How many reviews to lift your star rating?
Type your rating today, how many reviews it is made of, and the rating you want. The answer is the number of five-star reviews that gets you there.
How the number is worked out.
- It is a simple average
- The calculator adds five-star reviews to the rating and count you typed, then divides by the new count. It rounds up to the next whole review.
- It is not a review site's own score
- A review site may weight, filter or round its published score in its own way. Treat the result as a guide to the size of the job, not as a forecast.
- A perfect 5.0 has no answer
- An average only reaches 5.0 when every review is a five. One lower review keeps it below that, however many five-star reviews follow.
- The first reviews move the most
- The fewer reviews you have, the more each new one shifts the average. A business with a long history needs many more to move the same distance.
