Google review cards for plumbers, electricians and other home services.
A trade with no shop counter still has one good moment to ask: when the job is done and the customer is standing in front of it. The card travels in a pocket or the van.
Why the review does not get written.
Home-service customers search by area and choose by reviews, and the work happens in their home with no till and no receipt printer. A text message afterwards is easy to ignore. Asking in person, with the card in hand, is harder to put off.
Where the card goes.
- In the technician's pocket
- A card per technician. Each card has its own link, so the dashboard shows who earned the tap.
- On the clipboard or tablet case
- Fixed where the customer signs off the job, so the request is part of the handover.
- In the office or showroom
- If customers visit to choose fittings or pay, one card on the desk covers them.
When to ask.
- At sign-off, after you have shown the customer the finished work.
- When the customer says thank you and means it.
- After an emergency call-out, once the problem is fixed and the stress has gone.
Worth knowing.
- Do not offer money off the bill for a review. Google's policy forbids rewards for reviews.
- A card per technician shows taps per person. All cards lead to the one Google listing for the business.
- A customer who picks a low rating is offered a private note first, so a snag can come back to you as a call-back. The Google link stays on the page.
