Smart Review Stand

Google review cards for retail shops.

An independent shop competes with stores that have thousands of reviews. A card by the till lets every customer who enjoyed the visit add one.

Why the review does not get written.

Shoppers rarely review a shop unless something went wrong. The pleasant, ordinary visits, which are most of them, leave no trace online unless someone asks.

Where the card goes.

At the till
Beside the card reader. The customer has their phone or wallet out already.
At the wrapping or packing counter
Gift wrapping and bagging give the customer a minute with nothing to do.
At the fitting rooms or the service desk
Where staff have spent time helping, the customer has something specific to say.

When to ask.

  • After you have helped someone find the right thing.
  • When a customer says they are glad the shop is there.
  • When an exchange or a return was handled well.

Worth knowing.

  • Do not offer a discount or a gift for a review. Google's policy forbids rewards for reviews.
  • A small sign beside the card saying what it does, such as tap to review us on Google, helps people who have not seen one before. The free sign maker on this site prints one.
  • The QR code on the card covers older phones and anyone with NFC switched off.
